CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT

FOUR STAR OVERNITE CAMP
for Varsity Level Players
Bryant University, Smithfield, R.I.

June 29 to July 2

FOUR STAR OVERNITE CAMP

The top “High School Team Camp” in the country. You can attend as a team, a partial team or as an individual (partial teams and individuals will be combined to form all-star teams). The camp will be divided into two varsity leagues. The top league will consist of highly competitive teams; they must be complete High School teams from one school. The High School coach will decide if his team will play in this league. The other league will be for all other teams, partial teams and individuals. This camp is for rising 9th graders through rising 12th graders. We will create a JV league if there is enough interest from rising 7th and 8th graders. As High School coaches we realize the importance of recruiting and we strive to attract college coaches from all divisions to attend camp.

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Goals: 1. The number one goal of this camp is to make our teams better. To give the rising 10th and 11th graders a chance to “bond” with the upper classmen and to get them used to the speed of a varsity level game.

2. To showcase our players to college coaches. College coaches get a chance to watch the player in his own environment, with his team. The college coach also gets a chance to speak with the HS coach.

3. To increase our players understanding of the game of Lacrosse

2. Teams:

A. All "team" rosters submitted must have at least 20 players listed. The roster should consist of 6 attackmen, 9 midfielders, 6 defenseman, and 2 goalies.

B. Four Star reserves the right to add players to a roster up to the numbers listed above.

C. Individuals and small groups of players will be combined into all-star teams. Goalies will be accepted up to two per team.

D. All players will be numbered. Team rosters with 20 or more players (up to 30) from the same team will receive reversibles in their team colors.

E. Four Star must receive a preliminary roster to reserve a spot in the tournament field of 40 teams.

3. Games: A. Each team will play a minimum of 12 games, total games will depend on the number of teams entered. Tentative schedule: Sunday: practice and 2 games, Monday and Tuesday: 3-to-4 games per day, Wednesday: 2 games.

B. 3-to-4 leagues will be formed, the tournament will be double elimination and will culminate in a final four championship round to determine a camp champion in each league.

C. There will be some all-star games vs. NY Empire teams. All-star teams will be chosen by the coaches and will be rising 11 grade players only.
4. Seeding: A. Teams will be seeded in leagues based on ability.

B. Only complete teams (all players from the same school) will be seeded into the top league.

C. The four Star staff will determine the seeds after speaking with the high school coach.
5. Practice:

A. Teams will have reserved practice time each day. Team coaches can sign up for practice time each morning.
